ABOUT US

Cartmore Building Supplies was established in Lochgelly in 1986 and has now grown into Fife’s largest independent builders merchant.

Expansion has brought about the opening of Cartmore Landscaping Centre in Polmont which features spectacular displays of hard landscaping to allow customers to see how products look in place.

From our depots in East Scotland we supply a wide range of building materials to both the trade and public customers.

Trade customers include leading national housebuilders such as Barratt, Stewart Milne, Miller, as well as many regional developers such as the Muir Group, Hadden Construction and Campion Homes. Many local developers and tradesmen also make Cartmore their first port of call as we have a firm footing in the communities we serve.

We have also featured in BBC TV shows The Beechgrove Garden and The Instant Gardener and have exhibited at Gardening Scotland.

Cartmore is a member of the Builders Merchant Federation who support builders merchants throughout the UK. We are also a founding member of NBG- The National Buying Group- a partnership of independent builders merchants the length and breadth of the UK allowing our co-operative arrangements to deliver the best prices to you from a local independent merchant.

Product range

At Cartmore we pride ourselves in being relatively unique amongst builders merchants in that we have our own bagging, blending and washing facilities that allow us to create a unique range of decorative aggregates.

Decorative materials

We stock market leading products from Tobermore, Omya, Longrake Spar, Pavestone, Hanson, Bradstone, Stonemarket, Marhsall, Acheson and Glover, Brett and a host of specialised quarry sources.

Facing bricks

Stocking a wide range from Hanson, Ibstock, Raeburn and Edenhall your choice is extended by a significant stockholding of reconstituted stone from manufacturers such as Marshall and Edenhall.

Unique Blends

We also have the ability to blend our own unique ranges of aggregates to suit your needs.

Drainage

We stock a significant range of Marley plastic underground drainage, Naylor ducting and land drain, manhole rings from CPM and McCann all finished off with surface water drainage channel from Clarkdrain. Geotextiles from Wrekin and Clarkdrain manhole covers and gulley gratings are also available from stock.

Roughcast

We supply all the popular ranges of chips such as Durite, Denbishire Spar, Nordic white, Polar white, Skye Marble and Tuscan, whilst being able to produce our own unique blends.

We stock it all

We also stock decking, sleepers and carcassing timbers as well as products such as cement, sands and aggregates, plaster, plasterboard, fixings, protective clothing, small tools, polythenes, wall ties, wall starters, building chemicals and ventilation products.

Hastle free delivery

We operate our own fleet of 5 specialised HGV crane off-loading vehicles meaning that from order to delivery your job is in our hands. We are also part of the Purvis Group meaning we have access to a range of alternative haulage opportunities from pallet distribution throughout the UK to bulk tipper delivery services.

With the central belt Scotland being our main market place we are equally able to work with customers to meet their needs throughout the length and breadth of Scotland and even to Northern England.

Based at Cartmore Industrial Estate since 1986 we are now Fife’s largest independent builders merchant and from Lochgelly we specialise in heavy side materials such as concrete blocks, bricks, roughcasting, gravels, sand and whinstone, drainage, reinforcement, slabs and decorative aggregates as well as carcassing timbers, plywoods, insulation materials, fixings and building chemicals and the following pages will provide much more information.

Polmont

We opened our specialist landscaping centre in Polmont 2011 to accommodate the growth in demand for domestic landscaping products and with a set of stunning landscaping displays showcasing our products we are proud to be able to deal with your landscaping needs at our state of the art facility.
